We're obsessed with only a few things. Hair, obviously. Britney Spears, duh. And Danny Pellegrino. Danny Pellegrino is a Meme Master, Podcaster Pro, and an all-around delightful dude. We are so honored to have him as our April Hair Spotlight. Hair Spotlight: Danny Pellegrino
GGH: Oh. Em. Gee! Can it be? Is this THE Danny Pellegrino before our very eyes? Danny: You are so sweet! Thank you so much for having me. GGH: Wow, what a pleasure. We're glad you're here. Now, you are most well known for your hilarious memes on Instagram. What started that? Danny: Thank you for saying they’re hilarious because not everyone thinks that (cough *mom* cough). I started making original content for Instagram after having some personal and career setbacks. It was a way for me to write jokes and get my comedic voice in front of more people than I was able to perform in tiny clubs and theaters around town.GGH: And this Instagram success lead to your already iconic podcast, Everything Iconic, correct? Danny: Yes! I realized I had a small, but passionate, fan base on Instagram of people who were interested in the same things as I was, so I decided to launch my podcast, Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino. The response has been amazing and I can’t believe how quickly the podcast has grown since I started it in October of 2017. I like to think of it as an extension of Instagram, and it’s been really lovely getting to chat with some of the reality TV stars and celebrities that I meme on my Instagram. GGH: Who has been your favorite Everything Iconic guest? Danny: I’ve loved everyone, truly. I’m a huge Real Housewives and Bravo fan, so anytime I can interview one of the Bravolebrities I’m in heaven. DJ James Kennedy, Billie Lee, and Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules were some highlights since I LIVE for Vanderpump Rules. They all exceeded my expectations. I also loved chatting with Elizabeth Olsen because she’s someone I admire in the industry so much. My friend Tyler Duckworth cracks me up and is so brilliant. Finally, I’m a HUGE View fan, so talking to Meghan McCain and Michelle Collins was super fun for me. Michelle has the quickest wit of all time and I wish everyone could have a chance to talk with her about pop culture. Related Article: The Best of RuPaul's Hair GGH: All tea and all shade, who has been your least favorite guest? Danny: I will not name names, but some guests have restrictions on what you can ask. I obviously think it’s important to be respectful and not ask anything that’s out of bounds, but sometimes publicists will give a laundry list of things their clients won’t talk about, which can be frustrating. That said, it’s only happened a couple of times. 98% of the guests have been SO open and giving with their time. [caption id="attachment_2840" align="aligncenter" width="389"]

GGH: If you could have anyone on your podcast, who would it be?
Danny: Mariah Carey! She’s my absolute number 1! I also LOVE Jennifer Garner, Bonnie Hunt, Nicole Kidman, Meg Ryan, so I hope to get to talk to iconic queens like them in the future. I’m a huge movie buff and to talk to some of the actresses I’ve grown up admiring would be a dream.
GGH: Who would you NEVER have on your podcast?
Danny: I want listeners to feel good when they listen to my show, so I don’t want to have anyone on that’s too negative or hateful. I love people who have different points of view and a little shade is great, but I want everyone to smile while they listen.
GGH: Now, let's talk about some hair. You have very attractive hair. We see on you Instagram always looking for that "key light" to give your hair and face that perfect image. What hair products do you use?
Danny: Thank you!! I’m always looking for my key light like Mariah has taught me. My hair is certainly not perfect, so I appreciate the kind words. I use Tresemme shampoo and conditioner in the shower. I also love Kiehl’s products and a company called BulkApothecary.com that sells lots of great oils and other skincare items in bulk which you can customize with your own essential oils (which they also sell).

GGH: Do you have any "hair crushes?" As in, guys who you think have hair worthy of your envy?
Danny: YES! I love a hot male model/insta-model/thot, so there are lots of them. Zander Hodgson is a beautiful male model and has the most gorgeous hair. He’s also a bit of a blondie, which I’m secretly jealous of since I’ve never gone blonde. Chad White is another model I always look to for guidance when it comes to hair and fashion. His hair isn’t the most mind-blowing, but I always peep it to see what’s on-trend in terms of simple cuts.

Danny: Kyle has stunning hair. It’s changed a bit through the ages and she most recently cut a lot of it off, but she’s always had beautifully shiny hair. I saw her in person circa season 2 and her hair was seriously amazing when it was super long.
GGH: Yes, we love long haired Kyle.

Danny: Shannon and Vicki’s cuts look very similar in the pics. I’m going to say Shannon has the better hair because she’s going through a rough time right now divorcing that a-hole, so I feel like she needs our support.

Danny: Delores and Teresa have similar cuts in this photo too! I’m going to say Delores is better because I feel like Delores is underrated as a Housewife. She once did a cheese sponsorship on her Instagram page and the video made me laugh so hard because it was so ridiculous, so my allegiance is with her. I love that they both have a lighter look though! They look great.

Real Housewives of New York[/caption]
Danny: The New York girls are my FAVORITE. Of all the franchises. They are perfect. In terms of cuts, Bethenny’s is similar to Lu’s (as Lu so brilliantly pointed out in one of the Berkshires trips where Bethenny called Lu a whore). Carole is always changing her look, which I love. And Tinsley has a nice new cut in the season (although it’s not showing in this pic). Sonja is a beautiful woman, and Dorinda can do no wrong, but I think I’m going to say Ramona’s is my fave because she is ageless and she has NEVER looked better than she does in the current season.
GGH: Great work! And very funny. Now, what can listeners and viewers expect from Mr. Pellegrino in the near future?
Danny: You are so sweet, thank you! I’m a writer (and ghostwriter). I have 3 books in development (2 of them are books that I’m ghostwriting for celebrities, and 1 is my own project). I also have some on-camera things in the works that hopefully I will be able to talk about soon (fingers crossed they all pan out)! In terms of my podcast (Everything Iconic), I have some AMAZING guests lined up for the next couple of months that I’m SO excited about.
