The “Effortless Sleek & Chic Blow Out”

The “sleek & chic” hairstyle has shown up on the runways of Kate Spade, Peter Som, Jason Wu, and Rebecca Minkoff. When I say “sleek & chic,” I refer to a beautiful straight blowout with little volume and a very defined smoothed part. This look is effortless to get and requires very little time. For this look, I would recommend using Rene Furterer hair products and GHD hair tools. Step 1: Prep

On clean, damp, towel-dried hair, lightly spritz in Rene Furterer Lissea Thermal Protecting Smoothing Spray and comb through root to tip using a thick-toothed comb. Choose whether you’d like a part in the middle or off the side. Make sure the part is defined and neat. This may take a few tries, don’t get discouraged!

Step 2: Blow Out

Using a GHD Air Professional Performance Hair Dryer and a Natural Bristle Radial (round) brush, section off and begin blowing out the hair starting at the base of the neck, pulling out and down. Always rolling the brush in at the tips to avoid a floppy curl on the hair’s end.

Step 3: Style

If you’d like to pull the hair up or back, now would be the time to choose your style. But in keeping true to New York Fashion Week trends, leaving your hair down and flowing is the way to go.

Step 4: Set

Using a molding paste, rub a dime-sized amount between hands and rub until the product is warm and malleable. Lightly glazed through hair, smoothing out any flyaways and the hair’s tips. Lightly spray the “crown” of the head with holding spray to set. Don’t go overboard and helmet your hair. And just like that, you’re ready to hit the runway of your life! Enjoy!
